Here’s what we’re not taught:

By the time we start university, we’re expected to have figured all that out by ourselves. You may get the odd presentation on academic writing, but mostly they’ll be busy teaching you content.

And lots of people will struggle, because…

content without method is madness!

Every assignment you submit is not just showing β€˜what you’ve learnt’.

It’s also the result of:

  • Your mindset

  • Your habits

  • Your energy levels

  • What you believe you are β€˜good’ and β€˜bad’ at

  • Your attitude to risk-taking

  • Your ability to act on feedback

It’s a lot to deal with even when you know how. And it’s why I created YOUNG&Able.

When it comes to studying, we do our best and hope for the best. When we do well, we breathe a sigh of relief, thinking, β€˜I must have done something right!’.

When we do badly, we beat ourselves up for β€˜not working hard enough’.

We stay up too late, take too many notes, and take negative feedback personally.

Because studying is personal.

It’s what we spend most of our time on.

It’s at the heart of how we see ourselves.

It’s what we do when we’re alone.
